Tournament and cup administration
Planning on arranging an online or LAN-party game compo?
Compo Master is a program that helps you to automatically match up the contestants,
keep track of the results and publish them live on a tournament web-page.
Either you are planning on arranging a league or cup with either single or
double elimination, Compo Master helps you to organize, schedule and record
results from the matches.
Compo Master was initially made with intent on organizing FPS-game
tournaments like Quake 1, 2 or 3, HalfLife Counter Strike (CS), Unreal Tournament,
Alien vs. Predator and so on, therefore you will se terms like map, frags,
etc, in the program. Still, this is a general tournament system and can in many cases
equally easy be used with any kind of competitive game or sport.
How does it work?
CompoMaster is consists of two main programs:
- Compo Master, The Java administration application. This programs lets
you create and administrate a tournament.
- Compo Viewer, The Java applet that enables the public to study an on-going
tournament through a graphical web interface.
Key features:
- Two main tournament styles: League and cup
- Three match types: Team, one on one and "many on many" (aka. Free For All
in the Quake community)
- Graphical display of the league or cup tree at all times both for administrative
and public viewing purposes.
- Easy web publishing through the applet program Compo Viewer.
- Either random or seeded match-up in all tournament styles, or a combination
of both.
- Well-tested Full Double Elimination cup system that results in fair contestant
matching based on the seeding numbers, not only the first round, but dynamically
troughout the entire cup.
- Command-line interface useful for scripting and automating tasks.
